I Am Back & What I Did For The Last 3 Months

Alas, it’s been 3 months since I last wrote on this site as I had been real busy with studies and so. No worries though, for I’m not like Kenny Sia who has a steady audience that would probably hammer him if he’s to be like me.

I’m writing this as I’m preparing to go to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning to send my sister to the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan (or officially known as Nihon-koku) for a 10++ days’ homestay. It is a 125,000 Yen affair (or roughly RM4,000), which are mainly participated by secondary school  students from all around Malaysia. The homestay programme is a parents-financed one, so I guess she is really lucky as my family’s financial ability has improved substantially over these years.

What I Did on Pre-Independence Day

headerpost1.jpg

My classmates and I celebrated our National Day in a very special way this year when we conducted a one-day motivation course for 30 juvenile detainees at our local Sekolah Tunas Bakti (that’s reform school for you). We had a really great time with these teens and we hope to do this again in the near future. Long live Malaysia, and Malaysia for Malaysians!

To all readers who have been trying to access this site for the past few days, you may have noticed that the site was down.

II was trying to upgrade my Wordpress via Automatic Upgrade plugin and it got botched for no apparent reasons. However I managed to reverse the damage and re-complete the upgrade.

So again, sorry and happy browsing.

p/s: More posts and pictures coming up soon.

Beautiful Sarawak (Destination: Sematan, Part I)

warning: Lots of pictures ahead. Fast connection and large screen required.

When I was in Sematan for the past 2 months for my compulsory teaching practice, I spent almost every evening going around the kampongs to take pictures. All in all, I estimated that my Lightroom library grew almost 34 - 45% in size, no thanks to the fact that I shoot almost everything in RAW.

As a compliment to this site, I am now beginning a series of Pictorial Posts called “Beautiful Sarawak”, as not in only beautiful Sematan but also to showcase the rarely explored parts of Sarawak. I believe we had enough of Mulu, Bario, Kuching and Damai, so why not other interiors like Sibu, Kapit, and even Sematan?

Here’s the first part of the Series which will I try (hopefully!) to update as much as possible, enjoy!
